Eastern Division.Eastern Division members recognize out-going President Millie Eben, NCTM NCTM National Council of Teachers of Mathematics NCTM Nationally Certified Teacher of Music NCTM North Carolina Transportation Museum NCTM National Capital Trolley Museum NCTM Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage , for her outstanding leadership. We thank her for being an inspirational rote model of organization, faithfulness and quiet fortitude. She has left us a secure foundation. Ithaca College hosted both the state conference (October 2005) and the MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association MTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee) Eastern Division Competitions (January 2006). Vice-President of Conferences Gary Fisher created a wonderful line-up of performances and presentations for the state conference. Conference artist Malcolm Bilson, presented an informative session on Mozart concertos, as well as a recital New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. NYSMTA is pleased to report that its Empire State competition, now in its fifth year of existence, continues to flourish. This statewide competition offers high school and collegiate students studying in New York State the opportunity to compete in piano, vocal and instrumental categories. The NYSMTA executive board will be hosting its first "mini-summit' at the 2007 spring business meeting. Breakout groups will brainstorm and articulate long-term goals, as well as the impact of those goals on the state organization.
