Eastern Division.The Eastern Division is a diverse community consisting of thirteen states that have memberships ranging from 60 to 600. In this issue's column we hear from New Hampshire New Hampshire, one of the New England states of the NE United States. It is bordered by Massachusetts (S), Vermont, with the Connecticut R. forming the boundary (W), the Canadian province of Quebec (NW), and Maine and a short strip of the Atlantic Ocean (E). And so NHMTA's ways and means WAYS AND MEANS. In legislative assemblies there is usually appointed a committee whose duties are to inquire into, and propose to the house, the ways and means to be adopted to raise funds for the use of the government. This body is called the committee of ways and means. are different than other states. In October, the state convention focused on a variety of subjects, including the Alexander Method, improvisation and the art of piano construction from a tuner-technician's viewpoint. Also included was the performance of our commissioned composition, Siren's Song, by Bill Pardus, written for soprano, alto and Diano accompaniment There also was a panel discussion regarding what happens at home between lessons. In November, the state's fall competition was held with very good results; it was a good motivator for the dedicated student. We took forward to the Granite State Auditions later this year.
