It became a college in 1929, a university in 1935. . Karp, Lyle Anderson, Connie Anderson, NCTM, David Engle and Christine Geiser Steiner, NCTM, will serve as conductors for the multiple-piano ensemble. Kathleen Jendrusik, NCTM, serves as ensemble chair. The Indiana MTA held a new chamber music event at its 2004 state conference called "Chamberfest." Small chamber ensembles, ages 10 through 17, spent a day rehearsing and being coached by collegiate music majors from Butler University and master teachers. The new AIM syllabus pro, vides a comprehensive curriculum of twelve levels in repertoire, technical study, sight playing, keyboard Skills and theory (written and aural). The board also is beginning a transition to online access for the state newsletter, conference registrations and so forth.
