(Division News).The members of the East Central Division (ECD) thank Kathleen Murray, NCTM NCTM National Council of Teachers of Mathematics NCTM Nationally Certified Teacher of Music NCTM North Carolina Transportation Museum NCTM National Capital Trolley Museum NCTM Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage , for her leadership as ECD president for the past two years. As Kathy moves to the MTNA Board of Directors, we know she will be a distinct voice for all MTNA members. Laura Melton, NCTM, of Bowling Green State University Bowling Green State University, at Bowling Green, Ohio; coeducational; chartered 1910 as a normal school, opened 1914. It became a college in 1929, a university in 1935. , Ohio, has been appointed ECD competition chair; welcome aboard Laura! Midori Koga, of Michigan State University Michigan State University, at East Lansing; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1855. It opened in 1857 as Michigan Agricultural College, the first state agricultural college. , was honored at the MTNA National Conference in Cincinnati with the AMT See vPro. Article of the Year Award. Also in Michigan, the MTNA FOUNDATION's Local Association Grants provided a wonderful bonus. A New Local Association Start-Up Grant was awarded to the North Central MTA in Gaylord. An MTNA FOUNDATION Local Association Matching Grant was awarded to the Capital Area MTA in Lansing, Michigan, for a jazz workshop featuring jazz artists Ann Collins and Rick Roe. --Eileen Keel Lansing, Michigan |
