EarthFirst and Tiarga Enter Agreement to Construct and Operate Solid Waste Facilities.

EarthFirst Technologies, Inc. ("EarthFirst" or the "Company") (OTCBB:EFTI) today executed a Memorandum of Agreement with Tiarga Corporation (Tiarga) to form an exclusive partnership to assemble and operate a series of Green Waste to Energy (GWE) System 40-ton per day solid waste facilities.

Tiarga paid a $10,000 fee upon execution of the Agreement and an additional $90,000 fee will be paid to the Company upon execution of the final contract required to be completed no later than May 7, 2001.

Under the terms of the Memorandum of Agreement, in addition to the $100,000 fee, Tiarga shall provide for all financing, land, buildings, permits and a continuous supply of shredded tires and conventional solid wastes. EarthFirst, through its subsidiary EarthFirst Green Waste to Energy, will provide the GWE System.

The GWE System converts solid waste into oils, carbon and a combustible gas. The proposed GWE configuration will add an off-the-shelf processing device to the existing technology converting the oils into colonial pipeline numbers 1 and 2 grade diesel fuel and thread oil. The combustible gas captured during the conversion process will be used to produce electricity.

Background of the Green Waste to Energy System - Invented by Mr. John Rivera, the GWE System is a patent application pending solid waste destructive distillation energy recovery system. In operation, the waste stream enters through a conveyor system and is fed through an air lock into the main reactor. Propelled by an auger through the main reactor, combustible gas and heavy and light oils are captured and stored as they become separated and the remaining solid carbon passes to a conveyor system into a bagging house.

The standard 40-ton per day plant is designed to convert approximately 4,008 shredded tires per day into approximately 1,310,400 cubic feet of combustible gas; 4,008 gallons of oil, and; 32,064 pounds of carbon.
