A fracture is a complete or incomplete break in a bone resulting from the application of excessive force.

Management is pleased with the results from the drilling to date which has confirmed the prescence of gold in 79% of the samples from the quartz veins and the continuity of the quartz vein along 3.1 km of strike length and 360 m down dip to the south (275 m below surface). In the holes completed to date the quartz veins have a true width of up to 2.1 m.

Since the diamond drill program got underway in mid October, the Company has completed 4,308.2 m in 22 diamond drill holes, fourteen holes in the Trinidad/Mina Vieja area, two holes in the Las Rosas area and six holes in the Manganeso area. The drilling was suspended sus·pend

Sampling of the Trinidad and Mina Vieja quartz veins in the main east-west structures in the area by the Company in 1996 established that the gold mineralization has an erratic er·rat·ic

adj.
1. Deviating from the normal or common order, form, or rule.

2. Equivocal, as in classification or nature.
. The average gold grade of the quartz veins from the active and abandoned workings was 7.4 g/t with 56% of the samples returning gold values between 1 and 5 g/t, 27% returning gold values between 5 and 10 g/t and 17% returning gold values of greater than 10 g/t gold. Results below 1 g/t are principally restricted to the foot wall and hanging wall of the quartz veins containing quartz vein stringers.

Extensive sampling of the drill core (437 samples) from the present program has confirmed that the gold mineralization is restricted to the quartz veins. One hundred and sixty samples have been collected of the main quartz vein plus hanging and foot walls with quartz vein stringers. Gold values range from 56.9 g/t to trace gold with 79% of the samples returning anomalous gold values. The foot wall and hanging wall samples returned trace to 0.86 g/t gold, with anomalous gold values in of samples hematite/specularite fracture fracture, breaking of a bone. A simple fracture is one in which there is no contact of the broken bone with the outer air, i.e., the overlying tissues are intact. In a comminuted fracture the bone is splintered.  stockwork.

The known erratic distribution of the gold within the quartz veins and the relative small size of drill core samples (85 mm or 63.5 mm diameter of the drill core) make a true gold grade determination difficult. The drilling does determine the widths of the quartz veins and the presence of gold in the veins. The presence of gold values are considered to be extremely positive since the drill holes easily can miss the patchily patch·y

The drilling to date of the Dona Amelia zone has confirmed the continuity and gold mineralization of the main east-west structure along 3.1 km of strike length and 280 m of down dip. The quartz veins in the structure pinch pinch,

and swell and the present 100 m drill spacing will be reduced where deemed necessary during the continued drilling to get a better control of the average quartz vein width and gold mineralization.

In summary, approximately 30% of the main east-west structure of the Dona Amelia zone has been tested with positive results, and the entire balance of that structure will be evaluated when drilling resumes in February.
