Eagle Family Foods Tops World Record for Largest Slab of Fudge; 2,100 Pounds of Eagle Brand Decadent Fudge to be Unveiled at the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival in Chicago.


CHICAGO -- In celebration of the launch of new Eagle Brand Premium Dessert Kits, Eagle Family Foods has surpassed the world record for Largest Slab of Fudge. The giant fudge, which was produced earlier this week, weighted in at 2,100 pounds and measures 18" high by 62" wide by 48" deep. The fudge will be unveiled Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival

The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival is the first holiday festival of the nation, taking place annually the Saturday before Thanksgiving along Chicago's Magnificent Mile.

The previous world record of 2,002 pounds is held by a fudge company in Ontario, Canada, and Eagle Brand's official claim for the new world record is now pending.

To produce a piece of fudge of this size, Eagle Family Foods used 292 pounds of pure milk chocolate chips, 861 pounds of semi-sweet chocolate chips, 821 pounds of Eagle Brand Sweetened sweet·en

 Condensed Milk condensed milk: see milk.  (equivalent to 938 of the traditional 14 oz. cans) and 126 pounds of butter. The fudge was prepared at Olmarc Packaging Corporation in Northlake, Ill. The fudge was poured into a custom-designed mold designed to preserve the shape, and took a total of 4 hours to prepare using industrial size appliances. Once filled, the mold was placed in refrigeration refrigeration, process for drawing heat from substances to lower their temperature, often for purposes of preservation. Refrigeration in its modern, portable form also depends on insulating materials that are thin yet effective. , where it will remain until its debut.

"Fudge is the most requested recipe we get around the holidays," said Paula Ryan, director of marketing for Eagle Family Foods. "We wanted to use our famous recipe and create something candy lovers could really get excited about. A 2,100 pound piece of fudge was the answer!"
