The IP5000 delivers the advanced processing needed for a range of advanced, interactive services including internet browsing, gaming, video on demand, PVR, etc. The addition of the MPEG-4 H.264 capability expands upon Eagle's proven success delivering advanced video services over MPEG (Moving Pictures Experts Group) An ISO/ITU standard for compressing digital video. Pronounced "em-peg," it is the universal standard for digital terrestrial, cable and satellite TV, DVDs and digital video recorders (DVRs). 2-based IP networks and now allows broadband providers to more efficiently deliver the most advanced IPTV services using less bandwidth.

TelcoTV attendees can see a demonstration of the MediaPro IP5000 featuring both standard and high-definition programming in MPEG-4 H.264 at Eagle Broadband's booth #614.

The MediaPro IP5000 platform features advanced Intel(R) architecture graphics and memory controller with a highly integrated graphics accelerator. The architecture consists of dedicated multi-media engines executing in parallel to deliver high performance 2D, 3D and motion compensation video capabilities. The MediaPro IP5000 supports a VESA DDC2B compliant display interface and a digital video out port to provide NTSC (National TV Standards Committee) The committee that developed the television standards for the U.S, which are also used in Canada, Japan, South Korea and several Central and South American countries. Both the committee and the standard are called "NTSC.  and PAL broadcast standards.

The IP5000 also provides full PVR functionality in an IP-based format including record, playback, fast-forward and rewind of live and scheduled programming; live broadcast pause, instant rewind and playback with slow motion; and the capability to use all of these features while recording another broadcast. The PVR recording storage capacity is dependent upon the size of hard-disk, which is configurable based upon service provider requirements.
