EZCONY OBTAINS NEW CREDIT FACILITY; SALES INCREASE EXPECTED IN MEXICO

 MIAMI, July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Ezcony Interamerica Inc. (NASDAQ: EZCOF) has obtained a $5 million increase of an existing credit facility that will allow the company to expand its sales of consumer electronics equipment in Latin America.
 The increased credit line is allocated for Sony, AIWA and ELTEC(TM), Ezcony's own brand of electronics.
 Ezcony is one of the largest independent distributors of consumer electronics to Latin America, and handles popular brands such as Sony, Pioneer and AIWA, as well as ELTEC. Ezcony also distributes 3M and Scotch brand audio and video tape, and computer tape and diskettes.
 "We've been operating in a market area where the demand for our products is great, but our ability to acquire the equipment has been limited," said Ezra Cohen, president and chief executive officer of Ezcony. "This expanded trade finance line allows us to increase our sales into Mexico, where demand is strong and where our profit margins have been improving."
 Late in 1992, Ezcony established a network of eight independent distributors to Mexico, replacing one distributor, and since then has been selling directly to some large retailers.
 Demand for consumer electronics is high throughout Latin America, and particularly Mexico, where an open economy has made items more accessible. In Mexico, there are 6.6 people for every television set, compared to 1.3 people for every television set in the U.S.
 Ezcony is also negotiating with a number of financial institutions for expanded and new credit facilities that will provide a base for additional sales growth.
