EXPLOSION VICTIM REMAINS SUSPECT, IN HOSPITAL CARE.

A 26-year-old Lancaster man remained hospitalized Monday with burns authorities say he suffered in an explosion of an illicit methamphetamine lab in his home, officials said.

Ivan Taverner suffered second-degree burns on 45 percent of his body from the explosion Friday evening in the 44000 block of 10th Street West.

 lab is very volatile,'' said Sgt. Kim Ruppert of the Lancaster sheriff's station. ``It's quite common for them to have explosions.''

``The house had extensive fire and smoke damage,'' Ruppert said.
