It allows Windows client applications to access voice services on a server.  (Microsoft) and TSAPI (Telephony Services API) A telephony programming interface from Novell and AT&T. Based on the international CSTA standard, TSAPI is designed to interface a telephone PBX with a NetWare server to provide interoperability between PCs and telephone equipment.  (Novell) computer telephone integration (CTI) standards at the Computer Telephony Integration Computer Telephony Integration - Computer Telephone Integration  Exhibition in Dallas, Texas, March 7-9, 1995.

Featuring TAPI compliance, EXECUTONE demonstrated its Execudex(TM) software application interfaced at the desktop through a serial connection to a TAPI compliant telephone. TSAPI compliance was demonstrated using SofTalk International's award winning Phonetastic application interfaced through a Novell server to Executone's Integrated Digital System (IDS(TM)) telephony platform. In addition, EXECUTONE unveiled its new Advanced Central Processing Unit See CPU.

(ACPU) used in the IDS platform and Visual VX2(TM), a MS Windows(TM)-based application providing integrated messaging from the desktop.

"For over 10 years, EXECUTONE has supported the development and promotion of standards that increase the productivity and efficiency of users through the integration of telephone and computer systems," stated Alan Kessman, president and chief executive officer. "Our ability to provide our customers with advanced applications that adapt to the customer's environment and utilize emerging technologies, is the foundation of this company's strength and applications flexibility for its users," continued Kessman.

In addition to the excitement surrounding its CTI compliance, EXECUTONE received significant attention to its new products introduced and demonstrated at the show. Execudex, a PC-based application that integrates with TAPI compliant telephone systems, enables users to place, receive, and manage calls directly from the computer desktop. Also demonstrated at the CTI show was Visual VX2, a visual voice messaging system that uses the PC desktop to display, select and manage all voice mail message traffic as well as provide common access to and management of Fax and E-Mail messages. Together with EXECUTONE's INFOSTAR(R)/VX2 voice messaging system, this application provides a link between the user's telephone and desktop computer.

Enhancing the excitement generated at the CTI show was the introduction of EXECUTONE's new Advanced Central Processing Unit (ACPU) used in its IDS platform. The new ACPU supports CTI applications, provides increased processing power, increased memory, direct LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used.  connectivity and increased I/O capability. With the release of the ACPU, each configuration of the IDS system will be capable of a direct 10 MB Ethernet TCP/IP TCP/IP
