 EX-FORD DEALERS TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE IN CHICAGO
 CONCERNING FORD MOTOR COMPANY'S MINORITY DEALERSHIP PROGRAM
 The following was issued today by Grant's Marketing Consultants on behalf of Anthony Kennedy and Robert Frensley of Nashville:
 A number of black ex-Ford dealers are calling a press conference at the McCormick Center Hotel in Chicago to vent their frustrations with the Ford Motor Company's (NYSE: F) Minority Dealership Program.
 The meeting, which will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday will include former dealers or their representatives from several states.
 Among their list of grievances are the following:
 -- Ford mid-level managers' refusal to keep open lines of
 communication;
 -- The large number of failure among black Ford dealers;
 -- Ford mid-level managers have assigned black dealers to
 economically depressed areas; and
 -- the failure of Ford's Dealer Candidate Program.
 In a news article written by Lisa Zagaroli for the Associated Press, Mel Farr, head of the Ford, Lincoln, Mercury Minority Dealers Association (FLMMDA) partially explained the reason for disproportionate failure rate among minority auto dealers. He stated:
 "Minority dealers tend to be offered and buy the worst franchises available, and usually pay the highest prices for them. He continued: "Most are located in depressed areas and are single-line franchises which limit the attraction of consumers."
 Wayne Patterson, national coordinator of the Ford Minority Dealers Candidates Program will act as chief spokesman for the group. Each ex-dealer will entertain questions from the media.
 Patterson summarized the mood of those who will attend the meeting:
 "There seems to be a consensus that there is deception on the part of Ford. All over the country, Ford's district managers have not fervently supported the minority program."
