 surveillance and a car chase, sheriff's deputies arrested a 25-year-old Canyon Country ex-convict after a police dog found him hiding in a home's trash bin, sheriff's deputies said.

When they spotted White entering a car around 2 p.m., they asked patrol deputies to make the arrest.

Deputies attempted to pull over the car, but it led them on a brief chase that ended when the man and a woman passenger jumped out at 39th Street West and Avenue K-10 and ran. The man ran through several yards in the neighborhood.

"They both jumped out and we know we wanted White so we went after him, but we'll find her," said Brown.
