EVERYTHING'S ROSY A.V. STUDENTS TO PERFORM IN PARADE.

PALMDALE - Thirty-two high school and college students from the Antelope Valley will march today down Colorado Boulevard as part of Pasadena City College's 250-member Tournament of Roses Honor Band.

Today is the culmination of 12 rehearsal sessions and three performances in preparation for marching 5.5 miles in front of a million spectators and a worldwide television audience.

 and nine from Quartz Hill High School Quartz Hill High School is a public, co-educational high school located in Lancaster, California. Founded in 1964, it is the third oldest comprehensive high school in the Antelope Valley High School District (AVHSD). . There is also one student each participating from both Rosamond and Mojave High Schools.

Three of the band members are local high school graduates currently attending Pasadena City College.

In the college band's 76th Rose Parade appearance, the musicians will perform eight songs: ``Everything's Coming Up Roses,'' which is played every year; ``Stars and Stripes Stars and Stripes

``This also represents the theme, but with unusual families found on TV,'' said band director James Arnwine.

California high school California High School (commonly referred to as Cal High) is a public school located in San Ramon, California, a suburb of San Francisco, Oakland, and Silicon Valley. Its mascot is a Grizzly Bear. The school's newspaper is The Californian which is published monthly.  students are invited each year to audition for a spot in the Rose Parade band.

After being accepted, the students must enroll in Pasadena City College's music program. They earn two college credits.

The descendant of the sackbut, it was developed in the 15th cent. , 12; Brian Hodge, baritone saxophone, 12; Ben Levinson, percussion/snare drum, 11; and Edward Murray, herald trumpet, 11.

From Littlerock High School: David Cruz, percussion/snare drum, 11; Francis Glema, clarinet, 12; Elizabeth McCoy, baritone, 12; Samantha Ray, tenor saxophone, 10; Luis Solorzano, clarinet, 12; Courtney Sousa, color guard/dance, 12; Carolyn Valdez, color guard/dance, 11; and Crystal Valdez, color guard/dance, 12.

From Mojave High School: Alicia Frye, horn, 12.

From Palmdale High School: Markell Byrd, percussion/tenor drums, 11; Ben Cordova Cordova, Spain: see Córdoba. , trumpet, 12; Andrea Hutchison, color guard/dance, 12; Nicole Meeks, color guard/tall flag, 12; and Jenni Skillings, color guard/tall flag, 12.
