An evenly-matched field of eight sprinters will go postward in Sunday's $100,000-added Thirty Slew's Handicap at Hollywood Park Hollywood Park may be several places:
  • Hollywood Park, Texas
  • Hollywood Park, Chicago, a neighborhood in Chicago
  • Hollywood Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, California
  • Hollywood Park Racetrack, Thoroughbred race track in Inglewood, California

The Thirty Slews, carded at 5-1/2 furlongs on the turf course, was responsible for a world record last year as Darley Stud's Pembroke won the race in 1:00 2/5. Cyrano Storme finished third in that race and is back for another crack this year. The 6-year-old son of Cyrano de Bergerac Cy·ra·no de Ber·ge·rac   , Savinien de 1619-1655.

 has won only five of 29 starts, but he's two-for-five at Hollywood Park and won the Grade III Hollywood Turf Express here last November.

Other contenders include Score Quick, a winner of seven races and over $400,000 in 1995; Gundaghia, a tough 9-year-old who has won 19 races and $800,055; Comininalittlehot, a recent $80,000 claim by trainer Mike Mitchell, and High Charger, an improving Irish-bred conditioned by Hall of Famer Bobby Frankel.
