EV FREE TAKES FIRST IN CHURCH D3 SOFTBALL.Byline: Darnell Felton Daily News Staff Writer EV Free No. 4 (10-2) took first in the Church D3 division in the Conejo Recreation and Park District Spring/Summer softball softball, variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Invented (1888) in Chicago as an indoor game, it was at various times called indoor baseball, mush ball, playground ball, kitten ball, and, because it was also played by women, ladies' league's final standings. Westlake Lutheran (8-4) finished second. Calvery Community was third at 7-5, with Vineyard Harvesters and TOCF Turtles tied for fourth at 5-7. God Squad was last at 1-11. In the D3 playoffs TOCF defeated EV Free No. 4 in the first round and went on to win the championship. In the Church D1 division, Amen was first with a 9-3 record, with WCC WCC n abbr (= World Council of Churches) → COE m (Conseil œcuménique des Églises) WCC n abbr (= World Council of Churches) → Weltkirchenrat m second at 8-3-1. Living Word Rebels was third at 7-3-2, followed by CCTO CCTO California Clean Tech Open (business plan competition) Gold fourth at 5-7. Emmanuel Seven was 3-8-1 with Men of Bethany last at 1-9-2.
