EUROPE GETS HOLLYWOOD PARK.

As Hollywood tourism continues to slump due largely to a drop in European visitors, a new theme park touting its Tinseltown magic happens to be opening today in Europe.

Six Flags (NYSE: SIX) is the world's largest chain of amusement parks and theme parks and is headquartered in New York City. There are 20 such parks run by Six Flags.
 Inc., operators of Six Flags Magic Mountain Six Flags Magic Mountain is an amusement park located just west of the Valencia neighborhood of Santa Clarita, north of Los Angeles. It opened on Memorial Day weekend on May 29, 1971 as Magic Mountain, by the Newhall Land and Farming Company,[1]  in Valencia. The 625-acre movie theme park includes such rides and attractions as five world-class roller coasters While there have been hundreds of different roller coasters built, there have been just a few that were notable for specific reasons. Some reasons include:

The park is divided into five entertainment themed areas:

--Warner Bros. Studios: Designed to give guests the feeling of being on the streets of the real Warner Bros. studio lot with reproductions of sound stages, buildings and facades. It also features shows that are inspired by Warner Bros. films such as ``Lethal Weapon'' and ``Police Academy.''

--Cartoon Village: Guests are made to feel as if they are part of a real cartoon. They will find the famous Looney Tunes and Cartoon Network characters and can visit the homes of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Sylvester and Granny.

--Super Heroes World: Comic book lovers will be able to walk through Metropolis and Gotham City, the homes of DC Comics superheroes Superheroes are fictional heroes who possess abilities beyond those of normal human beings.

Six Flags, Inc., runs a total of 38 parks in North America, Europe and Latin America including Six Flags California in Valencia. Six Flags is licensed to use Warner Bros. characters in its parks.

There are now three Warner Bros. Movie World theme parks around the world including parks in Australia and in Germany. Nauser said Bugs Bunny and other trademark characters have not been a tough sell in foreign lands.

``It's an appeal that crosses pretty much all boundaries,'' she said. ``They know the characters and they know the movie stars.''
