EUREKA SUPPORTS CANADIAN NATIONAL PARKS, HEART AND STROKE FOUNDATION

 BLOOMINGTON, Ill., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Eureka Vacuum Cleaner Company, which is receiving extensive praise for its programs to contribute funds to the National Park Foundation and the American Heart Association in the United States, announced today that it is extending its charitable support activities to similar organizations in Canada.
 The Canadian program is being conducted by Euroclean Canada, the Canadian-affiliated company to Eureka, headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario.
 Euroclean President Jim Hunter announced that Eureka is making financial contributions to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and the Canadian Parks Partnership on the basis of each Eureka World Vac vacuum cleaner sold in Canada.
 Eureka, through Euroclean Canada, Inc., is seeking to develop partnerships with retailers in Canada to promote both organizations, which, together, touch the lives of millions of Canadian citizens.
 Eureka's financial contributions to the Canadian Parks Partnership (Partenaires Des Parcs Canadiens) are designated for preservation and protection of Canada's National Parks.
 The Eureka contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (Fondation Des Maladies Du Coeur Du Canada) are directed against heart disease and stroke, the nation's leading killer of people, both men and women.
 Hunter said, "These two Canadian organizations were selected for financial assistance because they exemplify concern for the environment and health, which The Eureka Company wholeheartedly supports. By contributing to these two organizations, as well as their counterparts in the United States, we feel that Eureka is helping to make all of North America a better place for everyone."
 Lillian Tankard, chair of the Canadian Parks Partnership, thanked Eureka Canada for its generous support. "This partnership between Eureka Canada and our volunteers will be of lasting benefit to Canada's environmental heritage."
 Eureka is the only flood care company to undertake such a large- scale project.
 Public reaction to the World Vac program, including retail executives, federal officials and U.S. congressional members, already has been exceptionally positive. Many retailers in the United States have worked with Eureka to offer informational programs on behalf of both organizations, while some have provided trees for planting in parks.
 Eureka, in September, will sponsor nationwide magazine messages advising women in the U.S. and Canada about ways to help avoid heart disease, the leading killer of women and men.
 World Vac vacuum cleaners comprise a new line of floor care products which Eureka has introduced this year.
