ETC Calls for "Ambassadors for English Tourism".

The English Tourism Council The English Tourism Council (prior to 1999 the English Tourist Board) was the tourist board for England. In 2003 it merged with the British Tourist Authority to form VisitBritain.  is calling on people who live in England to act as "ambassadors" for tourism in support of the launch of a new campaign urging English residents to invite their friends and relatives to visit from abroad.

The campaign, launched by the British Tourist Authority and the National Tourist Boards, will provide postcards to English residents to send to friends and relatives around the world. The postcards are part of a free pack containing everything needed to entice visitors to England.

The British Tourist Authority will collect the names and addresses of the recipients of the postcards and will make contact with them via its overseas offices.
