ESRI Selected by National Fuel Gas Company for Enterprise GIS; New Platform Will Be Foundation for Pipeline Data Repository, Data Maintenance and Integration Tools, and Much More.

REDLANDS, Calif. -- ESRI is pleased to announce that National Fuel Gas Company (NYSE:NFG), a diversified energy company with headquarters in Williamsville, New York, has selected ESRI to provide a core enterprise geographic information system (GIS) technology platform to support the company's transmission and utility operations. ESRI technology is already in use at National Fuel's Timber segment.

The new platform will be the foundation for the deployment of a pipeline data repository, pipeline data maintenance and integration tools, and domain specialty applications necessary to support National Fuel's transmission pipeline integrity management program in its Pipeline and Storage and Utility segments. In addition, National Fuel will migrate from its legacy AM/FM/GIS system to the new platform. Based on ESRI's ArcGIS software, this new GIS platform will optimize support for engineering and mapping application requirements for an enterprise asset repository and management system within its Utility segment.

The current plans for implementation include a three-phased approach: phase 1 will include the implementation and deployment of the corporate pipeline data repository and associated applications for National Fuel's Pipeline and Storage segment, phase 2 is targeted to include migration of Utility segment data and applications to the new platform, and phase 3 will include data cleanup and integration with other enterprise IT systems.
