ESRI, FileNET Corp. (Nasdaq:FILE), and GIS Technology Inc. (GTI) today announced plans to integrate ESRI's geographic information systems (GIS) tools into FileNET's Panagon(TM) integrated document management (IDM) platform. The new interfaces allow users to quickly access mission-critical documents such as permits, titles and safety procedures that are linked directly to their ESRI GIS system from a FileNET repository. GTI, a business partner of both firms, is developing the interfaces, while FileNET and ESRI will jointly promote the products to utilities companies, telecommunications firms, governments and organizations in other industries who rely on timely access to accurate geographical information. Interface products are being developed for ESRI'som within their GIS applications. They also will be able to include document properties and content in their GIS queries. Conversely, Panagon users will have extended dochese products will provide building blocks for an interface between Panagon IDM and ARC/INFO applications. Prototypes will be demonstrated in the GTI booth at the ESRI Uty of the Panagon IDM platform from within the ArcView interface. With the addition of Panagon IDM, GTI-View a feature, which meets

specific criteria. Criteria can be based on document

properties, fo, view, edit, etc.

     -- Select documents uain spatial relationship with the feature(s), associated
        with the selected set of documents.

     -- Set the area of the map display according to a selected set of
        documents.

     -- Use the Schema edit wizard to walk users through the process
        of linking GIS and document schemas.

     -- Employ the installation wizard to "document enable" existing
        ArcView projects.

GTI-View/IDM Provides Integrated GIS and Document Viewing

The product provides access to the full document management functionality provided by Panagon IDM, within GTI-View, GTI's existing viewer product. GTI-View is an easy-to-use, low-cost viewer based on MapObjects. In addition to viewing and querying all of ESRI's standard data formats, GTI-View can seamlessly display image catalogs and geo-registered hpgl2 plot files for high-quality cartographic rendering, leveraging existing investments in GIS. GTI-View can operate as a stand-alone application or function as an Internet client. It can retrieve data via ftp protocol and manage it in a local cache, and it can work with ARC/INFO, ArcView or a RDBMS through GTI's Internet server product, GTI-Gateway. The product is designed to give many users access to GIS in a very cost-effective way through an intuitive user interface.
