ESPRIT finds a new SoHo location as part of its United States re-launch.

Madison HGCD recently announced that it has closed a deal for apparel and accessory retailer ESPRIT's marquee location as part of its United States re-launch. Located in SoHo at 583 Broadway (previously occupied by the New Museum of Contemporary Art), the store will consist of two levels totaling approximately 12,000 s/f of retail space, with additional stock space on a sublevel.

Richard B. Hodos, president of Madison HGCD, and Steve Bartha, Madison HGCD's executive managing director, represented ESPRIT in the deal. Alan Victor, Jeffrey Paisner and Evan Ruster, of the Lansco Corporation, represented the landlord.

ESPRIT joins a neighborhood already packed with popular retail locations, such as A/X Armani Exchange, Prada, Kenneth Cole, Zara, Pottery Barn, American Eagle, Limited and Express.

"We always single out very strong neighborhoods for our clients, just as we did for the first New York ESPRIT location that recently opened in the Flatiron District," said Mr. Hodos. "This new location is a perfect match for them on a number of levels."

"With the architectural details and dramatic skylights, the prior new museum space will translate into a truly magnificent and dramatic retail environment," said Mr. Ruster.

The new ESPRIT location is expected to open in Spring of 2005.
