ESPN selects Pinnacle Systems' still store for worldwide broadcast center; 15-unit order placed for revolutionary, open architecture two and three channel systems.

The 15-system order includes both standard two-channel and new three-channel still store systems, which offer leading-edge connectivity and peer-to-peer networking See peer-to-peer network.  capabilities in an open architecture, PC-based system. Targeted to meet the requirements of television networks and other major broadcasters worldwide, Flashnet Plus offers advanced file management, archiving and networking capabilities that can be tailored to the specific requirements of the customer. The system is capable of managing hundreds of thousands of still images from multiple workstations in a single network.

Flashnet Plus incorporates Artisoft's new CorStream software, optimized for client-server and peer-to-peer networking capabilities to ensure both speed and uninterrupted reliability. The system has a flexible input/output structure, which supports either NTSC (National TV Standards Committee) The committee that developed the television standards for the U.S, which are also used in Canada, Japan, South Korea and several Central and South American countries.
