ESI and MediSend/International Ship Medical Supplies to Sri Lanka; Long-Term Relief Fund Established Early in 2005.

PLANO, Texas -- ESI, a leading manufacturer of business telephone systems, has announced that, as part of the ongoing efforts of the ESI Sri Lanka Relief Fund, an ocean container of medical supplies will be shipped on October 14, 2005, to two hospitals in Sri Lanka. The company planned to continue support for the effort with a long-term campaign.

Disaster support has poured from Americans during the extensive damage due to the Indian Ocean tsunami of December 26, 2004. Shortly after the catastrophe, ESI established a direct support link with MediSend/International, a Dallas-based medical relief organization, to provide much-needed supplies such as blood collection sets, IV catheters, examination tables, gloves, IV poles, tracheotomy tubes, and epidural and spinal anesthesia. The first shipment, valued at $500,000 to $600,000, will leave the MediSend dock between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on October 14, 2005.

Eric Suder, ESI's Founder/Chief Executive Officer, said, "ESI began our program with a well-established long-term plan for Sri Lanka disaster relief effort through 2007. Our plan is not short-lived but, rather, a long-term project to sustain needy people in this indigent area who were and still are vulnerable." ESI also established other forms of contribution in support of Hurricane Katrina victims here in the United States.

MediSend CEO Nick Hallack commented, "MediSend is officially partnered with the United Nations Development Programme and the Sri Lanka Pattakanu Foundation to provide third-party monitoring of this program for medical relief in Sri Lanka. Blue Wing Express will ship the medical supplies via ocean liner from Houston, Texas to Colombo, Sri Lanka. Delivery is expected in Sri Lanka within two to four weeks. There are two particular hospitals designated to receive these medical supplies. General Hospital Battacaloa handles life-threatening situations and Mahamodara Maternity Hospital, located very close to the sea, has been rebuilt to the "functioning" level and desperately needs these supplies.
