CASTAIC - Sirens will sound Thursday along the Golden State Freeway The Golden State Freeway is a north-south freeway running through Kern County and Los Angeles County, California. ``If we have an escape, we sound the alarms along the I-5 to alert the public,'' Johnson said. ``We test the system every year.''

Testing will take place from 9:30 to 10 a.m.
