EROX Announces First Quarter Results; First Stage of Retail Roll-Out Brings Record Revenues.


FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 1995--EROX Corporation (NASDAQ-SC:EROX) announced today sales of its REALM(R) Men and REALM(R) Women fragrances for the first quarter ended March 31, 1995 of $1,112,597 as compared with $53,558 in the prior year quarter. Continued investment spending for the retail roll-out of the Company's products resulted in a loss for the quarter of $554,084 ($.06 per share) as compared with $361,893 ($.04 per share) in the prior year period. Cash and short term investments were $2,952,556 at March 31, 1995.

A Company spokesperson stated that the loss for the quarter was within expectations, and resulted from the up-front investment required to train and support personnel to sell these truly differentiated fragrances in the retail marketplace. As previously disclosed, the Company expects to continue to invest in securing additional U.S. retail distribution as well as expanding and educating sales personnel and funding in-store promotions activities.
