ERICSSON AWARDED $250 MILLION CONTRACTS IN THE PHILIPPINES.STOCKHOLM, Sweden--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 29, 1995--Ericsson has signed agreements valued at $250 million with the Philippine network operator Smart Communications, Inc. On a turnkey basis, Ericsson will supply the equipment and build the fixed network for Smart's local exchange service areas, as well as expand Smart's existing Cellular Mobile Telephone Network (CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System) A computerized device that enables cable modems to send and receive packets over the Internet.
