It is the oldest private social club in Southern California. The California Club has always been a vital factor in the business, social, cultural and civic life of the City of Los Mall. The event, which will take place on Saturday, Dec. 18, between the hours of 12 p.m. and 5 p.m., will help raise toys for the Children of Cystic Fibrosis cystic fibrosis (sĭs`tĭk fībrō`sĭs), inherited disorder of the exocrine glands (see gland), affecting children and young people; median survival is 25 years in females and 30 years in males. and raise funds for the Make a Wish foundation. Local firefighters will be performing special drills and demonstrating their trucks and equipment just for the kids. The police department will also be participating with Officer Friendly, the K-9 unit, Special Response Team and the Special Marine Patrol. The event will also feature performances by popular South Florida local bands SkyLab and Persona and a special demonstration by the North Miami Beach Senior High School Marching Band. For the kids, there will be a Santa Claus, a bounce house, clowns, animal balloons and raffles for Miami Dolphin tickets, hotel stays and more.
