MIAMI -- ER Urgent Care Centers (Pink Sheets:ERUG) announces year-end earnings to be much higher than previously anticipated. The company has brought on-board Financial Director, Ray Pinedo to oversee collections of accounts receivable. Mr. Pinedo has over 20 years experience in medical billing and collections and ran Isla Verde Medical Centers in Las Vegas. The more than $250,000 in receivables to be collected by year's end makes a significant impact on expected earnings. "Where-as before we were unable to effectively turn over patient accounts, now we finally have the tools in place to collect on as much as 85-90% with turnaround time on receivables nearly cut in half," explains Ray. The company has added Electronic billing and has contracted the services of Health Data Link to run patient eligibility verification. With the addition of electronic billing the company will be able to get claims out to the insurance companies in real time, thus allowing for such claims to be processed and paid within 15-20 days. ER Urgent Care Centers, unlike other types of medical practices, receives a flat fee for service. The company does not bill separately for individual services, giving them a much higher collections to bill ratio than most types of medical practices.
