EQUITABLE GAS EXTENDS UNION CONTRACT

 PITTSBURGH, March 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Equitable Gas Co. and United Steelworkers of America Local 12050 Sunday agreed to a 72-hour extension of their three-year contract because of the severe weather conditions. The contract was to expire at 12:01 a.m. Monday but will be extended to 12:01 a.m. Thursday. Employees are to report to their jobs at their regular time.
 Local 12050 represents 350 members who perform customer service and facilities maintenance work for Equitable Gas, which provides natural gas service to approximately 235,000 customers in southwestern Pennsylvania.
