EPoX Selects Sigma's EM8400 MPEG Decoder Chips; Video-On-Demand Set-Top Box Begins Volume Shipments in Korea.

Sigma Designs,(R) Inc., (Nasdaq:SIGM), a recognized leader in digital video decoder solutions, today announced that EPoX Computer Co., Ltd. (EPoX) has selected Sigma's EM8400 MPEG Decoder Software or hardware that decompresses and renders MPEG-encoded data. Because MPEG uses lossy compression, the decoded images are not 100% identical to the original. In most cases however, the differences are not easily detectable.
