EPSON announces new low-priced 15-inch and 17-inch high-resolution color monitors.


TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 3, 1995--EPSON Tuesday announced shipment of 15-inch and 17-inch SVGA (Super VGA) A screen resolution of 800x600 pixels. Third-party vendors extended IBM's VGA display standard and were the first to use the term. SVGA has also referred to 1,024x768 resolutions. The monitors are available now at estimated street prices of $349 (15-inch) and $599 (17-inch).

``These monitors provide high contrast, tight focus and true color presentation for people who want to maximize their display of Windows and graphics applications without spending a lot of money,'' said Michael DeNeffe, director of PC product marketing, EPSON EPSON Son of Electronic Printer .

Both monitors are Energy Star-compliant, having three power- saving modes, and feature low-radiation technology to meet the world's most stringent MPR-II guidelines for lower ELF and VLF (Very Low Frequency) See low radiation.  emissions. The models also have 12 programmable modes to display vivid colors and crisp text, and a 70MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  refresh rate for flicker- free viewing. The maximum noninterlaced resolution for the 15-inch display is 1024 x 760, and 1280 x 1024 for the 17-inch.

 and fatigue, the monitors offer .28 dot pitch for high image integrity, glare-free flat screen and tilt-swivel stand. The monitors also feature an easy-to-reach front panel control offering more than a dozen adjustment positions, including recall and store.
