EPIC USA, INC. ASSISTS CROSS-CORPORATE NETWORK PROJECT FOR DAYTON HUDSON CORPORATION

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Epic USA, Inc., a telecommunications and information systems consulting group, has been awarded a large cross-corporate network project from Dayton Hudson Corporation (NYSE: DH) and its three operating divisions: Target Stores, Mervyn's and the Department Store Division (Dayton's, Hudson's and Marshall Field's). The project involves the procurement of long distance network services from a single vendor, specifically wide area network services (voice, data and video) for over 900 locations nationwide. It is the first consultant-assisted corporate-wide network services evaluation of its kind for Dayton Hudson Corporation.
According to Steven J. Lambros, project manager and director of Network Services at Epic USA, Inc., when completed, this project will optimize all wide area network services and standardize network service from a single vendor, reducing network costs for the corporation and individual operating companies. The network project will allow for improved communications between Dayton Hudson operating divisions.
The cross-corporate network project for Dayton Hudson is an emerging trend in the telecommunications and information systems industry. Not only will the network address the corporation's immediate telecommunications and information systems needs, Epic USA, Inc. and Dayton Hudson staff will design the network to accommodate growth and future needs.
