EPA, Region 4 issued a Stop Sale Order to UCB on April 10, 1995, which ordered UCB to cease sale of all Ziram Granuflo and to submit a plan for a voluntary recall of the product. EPA, Region 9 in San Francisco, issued a Stop Sale Order to known dealers of Ziram Granuflo a few days later. Based upon information supplied by UCB and by the California DPR, EPA determined that some Ziram Granuflo on the market possessed labeling with the information that EPA had approved conditionally in April of this year. EPA, Region 9 amended its Stop Sale Order on May 2, 1995 to allow dealers to sell the Ziram with the EPA-approved label. EPA, Region 4 issued its amended Order on May 4, 1995, to UCB to likewise allow the sale of Ziram with labels that contain worker protection standards and use instructions for the product. EPA Region 4's amended Stop Sale Order also allows UCB to relabel Ziram Granuflo being held in two warehouses: 9,878 boxes in the Inland Star warehouse in Fresno, California and 3,648 boxes held at the USCO USCO Unsafe School Choice Option warehouse in Charlotte, North Carolina.
