ENVIRONMENTAL TECTONICS CORPORATION REPORTS YEAR-END RESULTS

SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation (AMEX: ETC) today reported financial results for the fourth quarter and year ended Feb. 26, 1993.
Sales for the year ended Feb. 26, 1993, totalled $24,363,000 compared to $27,819,000 for the prior year. Net income decreased to $373,000, representing $.13 earnings per share, vs. $863,000, or $.30 earnings per share, for the prior year.
The fourth quarter reflected sales of $6,099,000 and net income of $175,000, or $.08 per share, compared to $7,329,000 and net loss of $289,000, or $.10 per share, for the comparable quarter in 1992.
William F. Mitchell, president and chief executive officer, commented, "The 1993 fiscal year resulted in reductions in sales and net income, reflecting the worldwide impact of cuts in budgets for capital equipment and defense procurement. The last quarter benefited by a settlement of our claims on a military sterilizer contract partially terminated for the convenience of the U.S. government in 1990."
"While the current level of quotations is good, we do not expect the new business to result in an increase in sales and profits until late in the 1994 fiscal year."
