Jessica Barton of Eugene didn't win the $1 million grand prize in the 41st annual Pillsbury Bake-Off The Pillsbury Bake-Off is a cooking contest, run by Pillsbury Company from 1949 to 1976, annually, and biennially since.[1] History
The Grand Prize in the first contest—then called the Grand National Recipe and Baking Contest
 in Hollywood last week. However, her recipe for Chicken Enchilada Quiche did win a $5,000 award.

Barton was one of the four winners, each getting $5,000, in a special category, the America's Greatest Cheese Recipe Award.

The recipes of 23 of the 100 bake-off finalists qualified to compete for these awards because they listed at least 1 1/2 cups or 6 ounces of two or more varieties of American-made, cow's milk cheese as an ingredient.

The McKenzie River is a tributary of the Willamette River, 86 miles (138 km) long, in northwestern Oregon in the United States. It drains part of the Cascade Range east of Eugene into the southernmost end of the Willamette Valley.
 Home and Garden Tour may be purchased from merchants in the McKenzie Valley and at several other locations.

This self-guided tour of seven homes and gardens is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 17. The tour includes visits to a restored farmhouse, a family's dream home on a hillside, a 13-acre garden, two summer cabins and a completely remodeled home with guest house.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 the day of the tour. Children under 14 are free. Proceeds go to the McKenzie River Clinic in Blue River.

Tickets may be purchased at Walterville Feed & Tackle in Walterville; the Vida Community Market in Vida; the Blue River Community Market and the McKenzie River Clinic, both in Blue River; and at Harbick's Country Store at Rainbow. Tickets also are available at The Bookmine in Cottage Grove and these Eugene-Springfield businesses: Down to Earth, Gray's Garden Centers, Little Red Farm Nursery, The Gardens at Reed & Cross and Shamrock Flowers and Gifts.

 Restaurant - A team of 23 walkers, who will participate in the Relay for Life Relay For Life (often shortened to Relay) is a fundraising event of the American Cancer Society, and is now held in many other countries. It is an overnight event designed to spread awareness of cancer prevention, treatments and cures, celebrate survivorship and raise money  2004 from noon July 30 until noon July 31 at Lane Community College, will be servers from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday in a designated area at Sizzler Restaurant, 1010 Postal Way, off Gateway Boulevard in Springfield. Tips received by these team members will go directly to Relay for Life 2004, an event held by the American Cancer Society American Cancer Society,
n.pr established in 1913, this national volunteer-based health organization is committed to the elimination of cancer through prevention and treatment and to diminishing cancer suffering through advocacy, scholarship, research,
