Publications offer

tips for game hunters

In time for hunting season, the OSU/Lane County Extension Service has publications and information to help game hunters field dress, preserve and cook venison venison (vĕn`ĭzən) [O.Fr.,=hunting], term formerly applied to the flesh of any wild beast or game hunted and used for food but now restricted to the flesh of members of the deer family. .

`Wild game hunting is big business in Oregon and a lot of game meat is wasted because people do not know how to take care of it in the field and after they get home,' the extension service's Nellie Oehler said in a news release.
