The two main categories of Latin Jazz are Brazilian and Afro-Cuban. Created in 1961 through the merger of two other art institutes, it was the first in the U.S. , as well as the cool grooves of the College of the Canyons Studio Jazz Ensemble. A silent auction on the painting continues through 2 p.m. Feb. 16, when it will be turned over to its new owner. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Santa Clarita Oaks Conservancy and will be used to create high-quality reproductions of the painting on canvas.
