Interview by Turia Tellwright Older Horses Advanced 6 g Night Shift - Wonderful World 0704-21 He was unfortunate in that he doesn't like cut and last year the ground had just gone against him in the Ayr Gold Cup The Ayr Gold Cup is a flat horse race in the United Kingdom for three-year-old and above thoroughbreds. It is run over a straight 6 furlongs (1,207 m) at Ayr Racecourse in September. It was first run in 1804 when the race was contested over two separate heats of 2 miles. . I was very pleased with his run back at Doncaster, before he went on and won at Pontefract last time. Arganil 4 g Langfuhr - Sherona 1611-11 He's won all four of his starts on the all-weather, including the Listed Hever Sprint in March. He hasn't stopped improving all year and I hope he can translate his allweather form to the grass. With a rating of 108 he now has to be aimed at all the top races. The ground was too firm for him at Newmarket and so he'll now go straight to York. Benbaun 8 g Stravinsky - Escape To Victory 20563-8 He's been a great horse over the years, winning six times at the Curragh This article is about the plain in County Kildare. We'll step him up to 1m2f, but the ground is crucial with him - he needs cut. I think there's a decent race in him this year. Desert Lord 9 g Green Desert - Red Carnival 303098- He seems in great order and is the type that gets bored after two weeks turned out. He loves his work and the minute he's not enjoying it we'll stop as he owes us nothing. He had a bit of a strain and so didn't run at Musselburgh on Friday, and he may now head straight for the Epsom Dash. Green Manalishi 8 g Green Desert - Silca-Cisa 31180-7 He had a good year last season and has developed a real love affair with Chester, where he landed both his wins last year. He'll be given a similar campaign this time. The ground was too soft for him to run at Newbury and so he goes to Chester [runs in the 3.15 today].. Les Fazzani 5 m Intikhab - Massada U43512- She came from Mark Wallace and won the Listed Gillies Stakes at Doncaster first time before finishing second at Kempton. Mutamared 9 g Nureyev - Alydariel 125437 He's been a great servant and has come back better than ever, notching up five consecutive wins on the all-weather. Those runs in claimers have got his confidence back and he loves fast ground, so he will keep going through the summer and should be capable of doing well again. Tamagin 6 g Stravinsky - Luia 98-52381 A very fast horse; 6f and 7f both come the same to him and he has won over both, including over 6f on his most recent start at Newcastle last week. He was terribly unlucky last year with draws and the ground and he'll be aimed at the decent handicaps this time. Wi Dud 5 h Elnahim - Hopesay 3020-34 He's not won since taking the Flying Childers as a two-year-old and had lots of little niggling problems last year, so we never really had a clear run with him. He ran first time back at Thirsk and then the ground was very testing at Navan last time - it's a stiff track and he ran a creditable race. He seems in great order this time and, although he has an entry in the Duke of York

She has come back looking marvellous and will probably start at York. Jobe c Johannesburg - Bello Cielo 1386-73 He was an immature sort last year but has done very well over the winter. It was a mistake to run him at Lingfield as he didn't handle the bend at all, so we can draw a line through that. I was very pleased with his third at Ascot last Wednesday and he's due to run again at Hamilton on Friday. Madame Trop Vite f Invincible Spirit - Gladstone Street 152411- She finished off last year winning the Flying Childers, which led to an invitation to Singapore for the Krisflyer International Sprint on May 17. She has done very well over the winter and there is plenty of prize-money on offer there, so she flies out this week. We'll have to see how she gets on, as she'll be taking on the best, before making plans for later in the season. Rievaulx World c Compton Place - Adhaaba 2114-65 He had a good two-year-old career, winning his maiden and then again at Redcar before finishing fourth to Finjaan in the Molecomb. He finished last at Nottingham at the beginning of last month, emptying out very quickly. He came back quite distressed and we think he may have got his tongue over the bit. I was delighted with his performance in the Palace House Stakes The Palace House Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for three-year-old and above thoroughbreds. Undaunted Affair f Spartacus - Party Bag 313-5 A good two-year-old last year, winning her maiden at Haydock in May before finishing third behind Cuis Ghaire at Naas in the Swordlestown. She's done really well over the winter and had her first start at Leopardstown at the end of March. She ran very well there as the ground was far too quick for her. Hopefully she'll head to France next for the French Guineas on Sunday. Union Island c Rock Of Gibraltar - Daftiyna 2232-1 He just kept finishing second last year when he was very immature.
