Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) is a leading multinational aerospace manufacturer and advanced technology company formed in 1995 by the merger of Lockheed Corporation with Martin Marietta.

 Atherton Carty is set to be honored as most promising scientist at the Black Engineer of the Year Award Conference.

Carty, based in Palmdale with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company, is one of four Lockheed Martin employees due to be honored at the Baltimore, Md., awards ceremony in February.

Linda Gooden, president of Lockheed Martin's Information Technology business unit in Seabrook, Md., was selected for the Black Engineer of the Year Award.

Also honored will be Stephanie C. Hill, a technical operations specialist with Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems and Sensors Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & Sensors (LM MS2) is a Lockheed Martin business segment, headquartered in Moorestown, New Jersey, a suburb of Philadelphia. MS2 is a part of Lockheed Martin Electronic Systems sector.  in Baltimore, and William A. Hill, a circuit design engineer with Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems and Solutions in Virginia.

``We are very proud of each of our award winners and honorees,'' said Robert J. Stevens Robert J. Stevens (born c.1952) serves as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lockheed Martin.

Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Stevens is a 1976 summa cum laude graduate of Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania from which he received the 2003
, chairman, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Lockheed Martin. ``Their commitment to excellence and outstanding accomplishments serve as an inspiration to others.''

The conference is in its 20th year. The Black Engineer of the Year selection panel members were drawn from professionals and leaders in science, engineering and technology.
