ENGINE GLITCH RESCHEDULES SHUTTLE'S PIGGYBACK RIDE HOME FOR THURSDAY.

 will try again Thursday to ferry space shuttle Atlantis back to Florida.

NASA Dryden Flight Research Center The Dryden Flight Research Center (DFRC), located inside Edwards Air Force Base, is an aeronautical research center operated by NASA. NASA prefers to land in Florida to save the $1 million in expense to ferry the orbiters back across the country. Edwards normally is used as a landing site when the weather is bad in Florida, for emergencies and for orbiters making their first flights.
