COALBED METHANE CONSULTING SERVICES TO MAGNOLIA METHANE CORP.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Energen Corporation's Taurus Exploration subsidiary will provide coalbed methane consulting services to Magnolia Methane Corp., a subsidiary of Houston-based Transco Energy Company. Magnolia Methane recently assumed operatorship of its 500-well coalbed methane project in Tuscaloosa and Hale counties in Alabama's Black Warrior Basin. "This consulting arrangement is a logical complement to our own knowledge base and greatly enhances the potential for improved operating performance from our Black Warrior properties. We look forward to benefiting from Taurus' experience in developing a successful coalbed methane production program," said Robert M. Chiste, president of Magnolia Methane. "Consulting is an excellent opportunity for Taurus to use its extensive coalbed methane experience and staff expertise in nonconventional gas operations," added Wm. Taurus currently operates 760 coalbed methane wells in the Black Warrior Basin.
