ENDESA Will Build 500 MW of Wind Installed Capacity in the Region of Valencia.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 17, 2002
-- ENDESA has been awarded this wind power capacity in a bidding promoted by
the Generalitat Valenciana.

-- The awarded company, Proyectos Eolicos Valencianos S.A., a company mainly
owned by ENDESA Cogeneracion y Renovables, will develop the project with an
estimated investment of EUR 450 million.

-- MADE, a fully owned ENDESA subsidiary, will be the company in charge of
building the aerogenerators that will be installed in the wind farms.

-- This Wind Plan in the Valencia Region increases ENDESA Cogeneracion y
Renovables plans, which amount to 1,500 MW in the next three years.


Proyectos Eolicos Valencianos S.A., a company mainly owned by ENDESA Cogeneracion y Renovables (ECYR ECYR Endesa Cogeneracion y Renovables (Spain) ), has been awarded with 500 MW of wind installed capacity, in a bidding promoted by the Generalitat Valenciana The Generalitat Valenciana (in Valencian) o Generalidad Valenciana (in Spanish) is the generic name covering the different self government institutions under which the Spanish autonomous community of Valencia is politically organised. .
