ENDESA's Affiliate Made Tecnologias Renovables -MADE- Builds a Wind Farm in Aragon -Northern Spain-.Business Editors NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 2001 MADE will supply twelve 800 kW AE-52 generators and will build all the facilities including a 66/20 kV substation. Made Tecnologias (MADE), an affiliate of ENDESA (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :ELE ELE equine leukoencephalomalacia. ), will build the Tarazona Sur wind farm in Tarazona (Aragon, northern Spain) under a turnkey contract with the owner of the project, Elecdey Tarazona, S.A. The project will be commissioned in April 2002 and will represent an investment of Euro 6 million. MADE will provide 12 of its 800 kW AE-52 generators, each on a 60-m tall tower, and will build the rest of the wind farm facilities and infrastructure, including a 66/20 kV substation. The Spanish Institute for the Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE IDAE Instituto para la Diversificación y Ahorro de la Energía (Spain) ) has financed this project with a Euro 6 million subsidy, the largest ever provided for a wind farm. The AE-52 model marks the launching of MADE's 800 kW series, to be complemented with models AE-56 and AE-59, which will be launched in 2002. These models incorporate the most advanced technology since their variable speed synchronous generator and variable air flow control greatly increase their efficiency by making them adaptable to areas with low, medium and high wind speeds. This enables MADE to meet a growing demand for wind generators that need to be suited to the specific features of each site. With the above project MADE will have installed over a thousand generators all over the world, some of which continue to show a high availability Also called "RAS" (reliability, availability, serviceability) or "fault resilient," it refers to a multiprocessing system that can quickly recover from a failure. There may be a minute or two of downtime while one system switches over to another, but processing will continue. factor after more than twelve years of operation.
