EMRO MARKETING SIGNS LETTER OF INTENT TO ACQUIRE GASOLINE STORES

 ENON, Ohio, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Emro Marketing Company announced today it has signed a letter of intent to acquire 36 gasoline stores in the Greater Chicago and Northern Indiana area from Martin Oil Marketing Ltd., Alsip, Ill.
 Terms of the transaction, which is to be completed in the first quarter of 1994, were not disclosed.
 Martin Oil Marketing, Ltd., a leading independent, has been marketing in this area for 47 years. The majority of the outlets include convenience stores, along with both gasoline and diesel fuel sales.
 Emro Marketing ?a wholly owned subsidiary of Marathon Oil Company. Emro markets gasoline and convenience store items through a chain of over 1,500 stores in 15 states under the Speedway, Starvin' Marvin, Bonded, Gastown and Cheker brands.
 Marathon Oil Company is part of the Marathon Group (NYSE: MRO) of USX Corporation, Pittsburgh.
