EMRISE's Subsidiary, CXR Larus, Has Achieved Regulatory Qualification of Its New StarClock(TM) 200 Carrier Class Synchronization and Timing System.

Larus Corporation, has completed the essential Network Equipment Building Standards Level 3 (NEBS) qualification of its new StarClock(TM) 200 carrier class Synchronization and Timing System (STS (Synchronous Transport Signal) The electrical equivalent of the SONET optical signal. In SDH, the European counterpart of SONET, STS is known as STM (Synchronous Transport Module). ). The StarClock(TM) 200 STS offers flexible and cost-effective, extremely accurate solutions for Stratum 1, Stratum 2E and Stratum 3E timing of digital transmission and synchronization applications. This is the last required regulatory hurdle that had to be satisfied to allow CXR Larus to sell its complete synchronization and timing solution to the Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOC (Regional Bell Operating Company) The Bell telephone companies that were spun off of AT&T by court order in 1984 (the Divestiture). Also known as the "Baby Bells," the initial seven RBOCs were Nynex, Bell Atlantic, BellSouth, Southwestern Bell, US West, ) and Independent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC (Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier) A traditional local telephone company such as one of the Regional Bell companies (RBOCs). Contrast with CLEC. See ELEC and TELRIC. ) communities.

Larry Taillie, President of CXR Larus Corporation, stated: "The qualification of the StarClock(TM) 200 to NEBS Level 3 is a significant achievement for CXR Larus. In December of 2004 our StarSync(TM) 5850 basic Primary Reference Clock (PRC) was NEBS Level 3 certified. NEBS certification is mandated by the RBOC and large ILEC communities and without this approval it would have been almost impossible to expand our business in this, the largest market for our product. With the NEBS Level 3 approval of our entire synchronization and timing family of products, CXR Larus will be able to address the large carrier market with a complete solution of both primary reference source and integrated timing and synchronization. Our products are modular and expandable in design and can serve both the smaller edge networks of the national carriers and small independent providers as well as the medium to large central office demands of the larger national carriers.

Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of EMRISE CORPORATION, commented: "This milestone approval reinforces our belief in and commitment to the communications business strategy at EMRISE CORPORATION. CXR Larus and its family of Primary Reference Clocks and Synchronization Timing Systems is the largest growth driver for EMRISE Corporation and represent the primary driver for the expansion of our communications business segment. During the past year CXR Larus has expanded its customer base from 2 customers in 2004 to 11 in 2005 for the StarClock(TM) 200 product series. This was achieved without the advantage of shipments to the national carriers, which with NEBS Level 3 approval is now a real possibility. Additionally, the StarSync(TM) 5850 has already been in lab and field evaluation by two national carriers in 2005. They have indicated the desire for 4 additional features or modifications to the PRC which will be completed early in Q1 2006. With the qualification ground work that has been laid in 2005 and now with NEBS Level 3 compliance of our entire synchronization and timing products we are now able to address the expanded national carrier market as well as the Independent and Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier) An organization offering local telephone service that is not one of the traditional telephone companies. The Telecommunications Act of 1996 allowed competition to the incumbent telcos (ILECs), enabling new companies (CLECs) ) community. We expect in 2006 to more than triple our sales of timing and synchronization products in North America, Asia and Europe which was approximately $3.5 million in 2005 and is expected to be $10.7 million in 2006."
