Mr. Smidt is the Chief Executive Officer of Titaco Projects (Pty) Ltd., a Member of the Executive Committee - Bateman Project Holdings Ltd. (public company JSE JSE See: Johannesburg Stock Exchange ), Chairman of Aquafund (Pty) Ltd. and Director of Bateman Project Holdings Ltd., Bateman Mineral and Industrial Ltd. and Bateman Materials Handling (Pty) Ltd. Mr. Smidt holds a BSE See Bombay Stock Exchange. BSE See Boston Stock Exchange (BSE). (Civil Engineering) degree and has studied for the MBA (Witwatersrand). His industrial experience in South Africa extends from 1975 to the present and includes many aspects of senior engineering, technology development and management. Mr. Smidt replaces J.W. Bud Bird who resigned from the Board effective December 1999 to pursue other business interests. Other directors include J.
