Iontophoresis is a transdermal drug delivery process that uses electrical energy to facilitate the delivery of ionic drug molecules through the skin without use of a needle. Empi is a leader in iontophoresis technology with its Dupel(R) product line which was developed for human use.

The new Relion iontophoresis line was specifically developed for equine use within the veterinary marketplace. The product has been field tested over the past several months and appears to offer veterinarians Veterinarians and veterinary surgeons (vets) are medical professionals who operate exclusively on animals.
