Don Mischer announced Thursday he is unable to continue as executive producer because his company - Don Mischer Productions - is set to mount the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and he wouldn't have time for both duties.

CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) See cell broadcast.  and executives of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences were working Thursday on deciding a date and format for a telecast showing the presentation of awards in 27 categories. Mischer will still serve as a consultant.

``The opening ceremonies in Salt Lake City will be the first opportunity since the war on terrorism Terrorist acts and the threat of Terrorism have occupied the various law enforcement agencies in the U.S. government for many years.  the comedy and include serious tributes to Sept. 11 victims and heroes, but the revised ceremony set for last Sunday was scrubbed shortly before air time because of U.S. air strikes in Afghanistan.
