(A&P, NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :GAP) is voluntarily recalling fresh ground beef products purchased in its stores with sell-by dates from August 23 through September 11, in connection with the expanded recall announced this week by its supplier, EMMPAK Foods, Inc., which does business as Peck Meats. A&P's action is directed to customers of Company-operated stores under the following banners: A&P, Waldbaum's, Farmer Jack, Kohl's, Super Fresh, The Food Emporium and Sav-A-Center, in the states of Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana, New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of , New Jersey, Connecticut and the District of Columbia District of Columbia, federal district (2000 pop. 572,059, a 5.7% decrease in population since the 1990 census), 69 sq mi (179 sq km), on the east bank of the Potomac River, coextensive with the city of Washington, D.C. In addition, the Company urged consumers to maintain safe food handling practices, including proper refrigeration refrigeration, process for drawing heat from substances to lower their temperature, often for purposes of preservation.
